Anyone with a dog wants to take them onboard, and the question about where they go poo and pee always comes up. I stumbled onto a great video on a YouTube channel called “Aboard Mermaid Monster“. They have a great video channel and log their diaries about life, living onboard, children, pets and more. It’s really fun. Make sure to check it out.
Now, the grass on deck is very practical. (Velcro is good on fiberglass decking – no holes to drill and easy to clean or replace.) Make sure you secure it in some way so it doesn’t blow away. Where it goes depends on the boat. Clearly you want it in a safe place for your pet.
This is where teak decks can be a pain. I’ll be writing an article about teak, but this is the perfect example where a fiberglass deck or synthetic teak just makes sense. After all, do you want to enjoy family time or spend it all cleaning and worrying about the teak?
