There is more news about the new Project E from the Beneteau Group. Coming in 2021 will be two new models, a 62′ and 73′. Featuring displacement hulls these boats are directly aimed at Absolute Navetta and designed to be the next logical steps for Swift owners looking for a larger boat. An image gallery follows the article.
Both boats will be built at the Monte Carlo factory. This is wise given the nature of the market and competition. It will be interesting to see if Beneteau, known for price/value proposition products will lean toward Prestige level finishes, Monte Carlo or somewhere in-between.
Also of interest is the choice of a full displacement hull, whereas the Swift have semi-displacement hulls, (as do Absolute Navettas). Specs feature MAN engines which suggest shaft drive. Range is suggested to be about 900 NM for the 62′, and 1400 NM for the 73′ at trawler speeds.
The 62′ is designed to be owner operated, although it has a crew quarters. The 73′ on the other hand has a carefully designed layout so that the crew of 4 can navigate the decks with minimal intrusion on guests.
It remains to be seen, but a CE A rating for the 62′ would be logical. It’s hard to say on the 73′ as the Monte Carlo line are ocean-rated Class CE A.
