The new Van der Valk Beach Club 660 Fly premiered at Cannes this last week and is the next iteration of their Beach Club line. If offers many of the features of the larger boat plus a flybridge from shorter sister.
This trend in design is becoming very popular for a good reason. First, because it boldy claims its place as a coastal cruiser. It doesn’t pretend to be ocean crossing, although it is quite capable with a CE A rating. If you like to entertain – you may have found your yacht.
From a design perspective, the foredeck can accommodate a launch, but this boat has the entertaining layout with twin lounges and outdoor kitchen. A jacuzzi is also an option. This truly makes the foredeck a true destination, not after-thought.
The stairs to the lower deck can be from the pilot house, or next to the galley below. This choice makes one or the other larger or smaller. Living spaces about below decks, and the lower salon features immense aft and overhead windows opening directly to the beach deck.
