CANNES DEBUT Beneteau Swift Trawler 41
Beneteau is known for building price/performance boats. Depending on the model some shortcuts are more extreme on the lower line models than the higher end models. In any case, if you are looking for a coastal cruiser, this is a boat that you should check out.
The 41 is the next in the line featuring everything they are trying to bring to this market segment. And they’ve learned a lot as well. While this boat doesn’t have a full keel and a lot of redundancy, it doesn’t have the price of those boats either. The price in Europe is listed at £360,935 less VAT… We’ll have to see how this lands in the U.S.
Beneteau Swift have always been good – but this round they just seem to get everything right.
Some of the obvious things that we like include the new profile and practical flybridge. (Also available without a flybridge.) For some, the galley may seem cramped – but it is safe when underway with its’ U-shaped layout. Note the full-size convection/microwave!
The boats sleeps upwards of 7 comfortably, but in reality it’s great for 2 couples. For me, the third stateroom is more suited to storage. There are 2 full heads.
Mechanically, Beneteau is listening. No IPS here. Shaft drive is much more desired by this type of boat owner, and with joystick availability it can be the best of both worlds. I lo0k forward to seeing this boat in person.
Oh, no hardtop. And that’s good. Sure, they’re nice but two things here: 1) Keep the center of gravity low, and 2) The boat lo0ks much better without.
